Value Addition?

Is it just me or all you B-Schoolers feel the same way? Why am i here? How does spending 2 years in this place suddenly make me worth 6 laks a year? Yeah of course, everybody just so loves bragging about the average packages at campus and the highest offers and all......

But deep down do you, too, feel that may be i am not getting worth the money i spent here. Worth in the sense that i am a more 'valuable' employee for the organisation i will work in than what i was 2 years back. Running through entire fields of study in 2 -3 months, how much does anyone, even the guy with the best grades, grasp. If ultimately we HAVE to learn best, on the job, what is the point wasting my time here, why dont i just get on with the job i love and learn while i earn, never mind the meagre sum i get at the end of the month.

I just hope that i m wrong and i do become a genuinely valuable asset for the organisation i work for, and this is just one of 'those days'....

Anyways, news is, that this guy in the senior batch has got a placement with Bharti Televentures as Country Manager.....all day long we were wondering how this chap who always brought up the rear end of the class, had more ERs than fingers on his hands, couldn't present himself well, become the country manager at Bharti Televentures. May be Sunil Mittal's good days were over. And all this time what country he would be managing? Papua New Guinea, or Nigeria? or is it then guatemala?

Well neither, it is one of the latest US Colonies.........AFGHANISTAN!!!!
i laughed out so loud as i never did in the past year! Best of luck to u dude and god bless Afghanistan. Mr. Mittal please diversify soon, televentures should not be the only egg in your basket, not anymore.

Anyway, the placement scene isnt really blockbuster, but we are told it definitely is way better than last year and otherwise too. The avg now is a little under 4 laks. Among the big ones who have recruited till now are ICICI PruLife, Indiabulls, NDPL, Asia Pacific Capital, Jindal Steel, MMTC, among others.

All the best to the rest of the guys.
